Ingredients
  

For the Burger Patty:

  • 1/4 lb ground beef 80/20 blend recommended for juiciness
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Burger Toppings:

  • Sesame seed bun
  • 2 slices of tomato
  • 3-4 pickle slices
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 1 slice American cheese
  • Onion slices
  • Ketchup and mayonnaise

Instructions
 

Prepare the Patty

  • Shape the ground beef into a patty that is slightly wider than the bun (it will shrink slightly when cooked).
  • Season both sides with salt and black pepper.

Grill the Patty

  • Preheat a grill or a skillet to medium-excessive heat.
  • Place the patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Aim for a nice char for that Burger King flame-grilled taste.

Toast the Bun

  • Lightly toast the sesame seed bun on the grill or in a toaster. This helps give it a slightly crisp texture and prevents it from becoming soggy.

Assemble Your Whopper

  • Spread ketchup on the bottom half of the bun and add a few pickle slices.
  • Place the beef patty on top, followed by a slice of American cheese.
  • Add the tomato slices, lettuce leaves, and onion slices.
  • Finish with a layer of mayonnaise on the top half of the bun and place it on top to complete the Whopper.
