cinnamon rolls with heavy cream

Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 ¼ tsp instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup warm milk
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter softened
  • 1 large egg

For the Filling:

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup softened butter

For the Heavy Cream Soak:

  • ¾ cup heavy cream use just before baking

For the Frosting:

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 –2 tbsp milk as needed

Instructions
 

Make the Dough

  • Begin by mixing warm milk, sugar, and yeast in a big bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
  • Add butter, egg, and flour gradually. Knead until smooth.
  • Allow the dough to rise for an hour after covering it.

Prepare the Filling

  • In a separate small bowl, mix brown sugar and cinnamon.
  • Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread some butter on top, and sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Roll and Slice

  • Roll the dough tightly from the long edge and slice into 8 even rolls.

Let Rise Again

  • Place rolls in a greased baking dish. Let them rise again for 30 minutes.

Add the Heavy Cream

  • Just before baking, pour the heavy cream evenly over the rolls that have risen.

Bake

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes until they are golden brown.

Frost and Serve

  • Once out of the oven, spread cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls.
