ceremonial or culinary grade matcha powder

hot
but not boiling water

cup
cold milk
dairy or plant-based like oat, almond, or soy

teaspoon
honey
agave syrup, or maple syrup (optional)
Ice cubes
Optional Add-Ins:
A dash of vanilla extract for added depth

Instructions
Sift the Matcha
Use a fine mesh strainer to sift your matcha powder into a small bowl. This removes clumps and ensures a smooth consistency.
Whisk with Hot Water
Add 2 tablespoons of hot water (around 175°F or 80°C) and whisk vigorously using a bamboo whisk (chasen) or handheld frother until frothy.
Tip: If you don’t have a whisk, shake the matcha and water in a tightly closed jar.
Sweeten It
Add your preferred sweetener to the matcha mixture while it's still warm so it dissolves fully.
Assemble the Latte
Fill a glass with ice cubes. Pour the cold milk over the ice, then top with the matcha mixture. Stir or leave it layered for a stunning visual.
