Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp sugar or honey
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup apple or pear puree optional for sweetness

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine soy sauce and sugar.
  • Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
  • Stir in garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Let simmer for 5–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Remove from heat and add apple or pear puree if desired. Let cool before use.

    Try this mild alternative:

    • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
    • 1 tbsp apple puree
    • 1 tsp honey
    • ½ tsp grated ginger
    • Optional: a small drop of sesame oil
