Instructions
In a saucepan, combine soy sauce and sugar.
Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce heat to low.
Stir in garlic, ginger, and sesame oil. Let simmer for 5–10 minutes until slightly thickened.
Remove from heat and add apple or pear puree if desired. Let cool before use.

Try this mild alternative:
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 tbsp apple puree
1 tsp honey
½ tsp grated ginger
