1

1

smoked paprika
1
tsp
garlic powder
1
tsp
citric acid
for tangy flavor, optional
1

Instructions
Prepare the Tortillas
Cut the corn tortillas into small triangular shapes, similar to Takis-style chips.
Heat the Oil
Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 175–180°C (350–360°F).
Fry the Chips
Carefully place the tortilla pieces into the hot oil.
Fry until golden and crispy, then remove and drain on paper towels.
Make the Seasoning
In a bowl, mix together:
chili powder
cayenne pepper
smoked paprika
garlic powder
salt
citric acid
food coloring powder
Stir until fully combined and evenly colored.
Coat the Chips
While the chips are still warm, toss them in the seasoning mix until fully coated.
Serve
Serve immediately or store in an airtight container to keep them crispy.
Notes
Do
not
add wet tortillas to hot oil — this can cause splattering.
Powder food coloring works best for even coating.
Citric acid provides the sour “Zombie Takis” flavor; adjust to taste.
For extra crunch, fry the tortillas in small batches.
Allow chips to cool completely before storing to avoid sogginess.
